Onslaught
Cyclops meets with Senator Robert Kelly who tells him there is a political group with an agenda against mutants
Suddenly, Cyclops uses himself as cover for the Senator as the house is blown up
Presidential candidate Graydon Creed smiles as he is informed of this
Inside the Pentagon, Gambit and Jean do reconnaissance and learn about Operation Zero Tolerance from a speaker named Bastion
Bastion sees through their disguises and attacks them but Jean telekinetically protects them
They escape with the help of a mysterious figure
X-Force liberates Cyclops from a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier who’s being held there for “attempted murder” on Senator Kelly
Holocaust attacks Nate Grey at a beach at the behest of Onslaught who wants him and defeats him. Nate gives up when Holocaust holds his girlfriend Threnody hostage
It is a ruse as Nate activates the gathered energy within Threnody that she gathers from death
Threnody lets off a huge explosion sending Holocaust sky high
Nate and Holocaust come to a stalemate and Nate considers finding the Avengers
A being who appears resembling Magneto’s image takes Jean into the into the astral plane and shows her the duplicity and hypocrisy of human beings
He also shows her Prof X’s duplicity and that he loved her when she began as an X-man
The personage reveals its name as Onslaught
Rogue is captured by a Mauler-One when she’s given up by a woman named Melody to the Friends of Humanity
FOH are an anti-mutant group and Rogue is trafficked to Bastion who plans to blow the FOH building he’s in to frame Rogue for the incident
Rogue is saved by an FOH agent who is Magneto in disguise and does not remember who he is and has been calling himself Joseph
Bastion flees while Rogue and “Joseph” take down Mauler-Ones planning to martyr humans
Juggernaut goes to X-mansion seeking out Jean to have her peer into his mind and find out who Onslaught is
Jean finds out who it is and tells Juggernaut to flee but he seeks Xavier out and bursts into his office only to be attacked by Onslaught who seems to be in possession of Xavier
Jean finds the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak removed from Juggernaut’s suit and the X-men check on Xavier
Xavier seems to be speaking strangely when he talks about taking control once and for all on the conflict between mutants and humans
Onslaught manifests himself and reveals he is the manifestation of Xavier’s darkest parts of his mind, including the frustration against the prejudice that humans show
Onslaught is a brand-new sentient being with the professor inside him and believes the X-men will help him bring peace for mutants no matter the cost
Onslaught uses a powerful psionic attack when they refuse
X-man (Nate Grey) warns the Avengers about Onslaught
DB (Dark Beast) offers his services to Onslaught
The Avengers and Nate Grey do a flyby at X-mansion and find it destroyed
The X-men confront the Avengers and Jean performs a psi–scan to verify it’s really them
Nate physically manifests the memories of the X-men and finds out about Onslaught
He’s convinced Xavier is evil after a past confrontation in the astral plane
During a strategy meeting, the X-men and Avengers discussing about how Onslaught has aspects from both Xavier and Magneto and is made of purely psionic energy
A plan is made for everyone to split as one group will locate Magneto, another will warn the Fantastic Four that Onslaught is targeting Franklin Richards, and another will locate Cable as he may be another target
Captain America, Iron Man, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Thor, Vision, and Gambit take it on themselves to find Magneto
Hank Pym locates Magneto through irregular electromagnetic spikes and is tasked to check on Franklin with Black Widow, Iceman, Hawkeye, Bishop, and Crystal
Cap’s Avengers find Magneto in Virginia and Quicksilver immediately goes on the offensive
Rogue warns them to back off lest ‘Joseph’ becomes dangerous
He snaps and attacks Wanda and Iron Man but comes to his senses when Gambit de-escalates the situation
Joseph and Rogue agree to go with them so Joseph can get to the bottom of what’s bothering him
Onslaught appears disguised as Professor X at the FF hq and asks for custody of Franklin Richards so he can have his mutant ability
As Hank’s group of Avengers arrive with Iceman and Bishop, Onslaught reveals himself and unleashes a powerful psychic blast
Apocalypse asks Uatu the Watcher why Onslaught wants Franklin when his full power hasn’t been realized yet
Apocalypse plans to start the Age of Apocalypse once Cable is taken out by Hulk as he is Apocalypse’s greatest enemy
The X-men discover that Xavier has an anti-psionic suit stored beneath Muir Island as well as contingency plans for himself and the X-men some of which are disturbing
Wolverine and Elektra’s astral forms are taken through time and space but the mutant Gateway and witness a demon from Magneto’s psyche infect Xavier’s psyche
Post launches Sentinels around the country which X-Factor fails to stop
At the Brand Corporation where the Sentinels were launched from, the true Beast is freed by Mystique, Sabretooth, Forge, and X-Factor who had to deal with a mind-controlled Havok
Peter Parker and Ben Reilly (current Spiderman) take down the Sentinels in NYC. Phil Urich, the benevolent current Green Goblin also assists
Mr. Sinister abducts Nate Grey from X-Force at the X-mansion
The Avengers and some X-men make a stand against the Sentinels in NYC
The X-men are disturbed that Charles Xavier has a detailed contingency on them including himself meaning that Onslaught knows all their weaknesses
Onslaught unleashes an EMP across NYC that decommissions the X-jet in mid-flight, the FF hq, Vision’s circuitry, and Iron Man’s armor
Onslaught transforms and mutates further after assimilating Franklin Richards
The Avengers, X-men, and FF think Onslaught is defeated when they crack his armor and release Xavier from within, thinking they are one and the same, but they are wrong
After a massive telepathic/telekinetic/reality-warping attack from Onslaught, even Apocalypse agrees that he is a threat
Cable and Apocalypse form an uneasy alliance after the latter mentions that Onslaught is vulnerable in the astral plane
Apocalypse attempts to infect Franklin with the Techno-organic virus to prevent Onslaught from using him but Cable and Invisible Woman fend him off
Onslaught tricks Nate Grey by sending a telepathic probe from Franklin which he responds to after which Onslaught takes him through a rift from Sinister
Hulk, Hawkeye, Falcon, Vision, and Crystal create tunnels underground to get into Onslaught’s citadel in Manhattan
Before they reach the citadel, Onslaught shows them a telepathic scenario in which they are beaten and Hulk decides to have the group retreat
The Avengers manage to defeat Post and Holocaust using the anti-psionic suits and prepare to take on Onslaught
The Sentinels take down a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier in NYC
Punisher assists in stopping pirates from taking salvage from the helicarrier
Stick gives Wolverine wisdom that he can still find his path and get himself back on it after losing his mind from Magneto pulling out his adamantium
The FF deal with manifestations of their enemies created by Franklin assumably controlled by Onslaught
They’re assisted by the Inhumans, Black Panther, She-Hulk, Namor, and Agatha Harkness
Mr. Fantastic invents a neuromatter disruptor which breaks Onslaught’s psionic hold on NYC
Doctor Doom teams up with the FF
Nate Grey resists Onslaught’s attempts to assimilate him
Professor X attempts to stop him and the X-men back him up
The Avengers and FF assist and Onslaught begins to use Franklin and Nate’s abilities
By fusing together, Vision and Rogue become one to phase through Onslaught’s barrier and weaken it
Hulk battles Onslaught and breaks his physical body leaving a psionic entity
Xavier and Magneto save Nate and Franklin from the citadel
Onslaught is defeated by absorption by the Avengers, FF, and only the X-men remain since if they attempted it, Onslaught would gain their genetic traits
The X-men use their combined powers to concentrate at where the FF and Avengers are to destroy the last remnants of Onslaught, making it a sacrifice
Nate Grey greatly admires their sacrifice but Apocalypse plans to capitalize on the power vacuum
Prof X agrees to go with Valerie Cooper who is Chairwoman on the Committee of Human Affairs as a safety measure
The X-men take time to enjoy time together and cherish life
Prof X has been transferred into Bastion’s custody and has been rebranded M-13
Bastion wants answers from him on how Onslaught came to be
Onslaught was the culmination of Magneto’s dark emotions taking refuge in Xavier’s soul, mind, and heart causing a fusion of both their goals and dreams into a psionic entity
