Wolverine Origins- Original Sin
Wolverine tells an amnesiac Daken that he is a friend and that he’ll get him help by taking him to the X-Men who helped Wolverine many years ago
Wolverine recalls a memory and never-before told story before he met Xavier
He reveals that he had two missions when he attacked Hulk for the first time: his official mission by the Canadian military to take the Hulk down but also a secret mission under command of Romulus to get ’X’s’ attention and get recruited
The plan works as Prof X approaches Wolverine and offers him a place in the X-Men to which Wolverine obviously accepts
In the present, Logan takes Daken to Chinatown in SF where he asks an old friend, Tso Ren Wu, to keep Daken safe while Logan runs an errand and if he does not return in an hour, Logan wants Tso Ren (a monk) to hide Daken
Logan goes to see Emma Frost who is the telepath now at Xavier’s school after his death at the hands of Bishop in the Messiah Complex story. Wolverine punches Cyclops and hits Emma after he realizes Xavier is still alive and keeping it a secret from him
While Daken is given sanctuary in an apartment in SF by Tso Ren and other monks, he hears a woman named Claudine who communicates telepathically and meets her on the rooftop. Meanwhile Logan meets with Xavier in SF
Logan tells Xavier about his son while Claudine offers to show Daken who he really is but refuses. Claudine then contacts Sebastian Shaw and tells him it’s his turn. The building is attacked and set on fire by Shaw’s men and Daken realizes it was Claudine who tells him she’s trying to help him remember
After Xavier refuses to help Logan by erasing Daken’s violent parts of himself, Logan tells Xavier to peer into his mind where he sees the moment just before Wolverine became an X-man and knew that he was there to kill him so he omitted those parts of Wolverine
Prof X feels guilty for it. Revealed that he broke Logan’s mind into pieces and reassembled it again before becoming an X-man
Logan and Xavier find a Hellfire Club mask at the burnsite and head there
Daken is taken to Shaw by Claudine. He’s ordered her not to probe his mind for concern that he’d sense it and when she tries she feels a barrier
Shaw deduces that it is Romulus. He plans to have Xavier spring Daken’s booby-trapped mind and has made Wolverine think that the Hellfire Club took Daken and has him in Manhattan but is with Shaw and Claudine elsewhere
Wolverine already knew the HC didn’t have Daken but executed some of its members because of their villainous reputation
Flashback reveals Xavier repressed all of Wolverine’s programming from his pre-X-men life
Xavier and Wolverine find Shaw’s house in the South Pacific
They go up against Claudine and Shaw. Claudine is a reincarnated form of Mister Sinister. Xavier takes her out
He finds an unconscious Daken and probes his mind and finds that his mind has been warped much worse than Wolverine’s ever has. Xavier receives psychic backlash and writhes on the floor
Daken gets all his memories back and stabs Claudine and prepares to impale Xavier through the brain just as Logan arrives
Daken attacks Wolverine who won’t fight back. He suddenly sees flashbacks of himself back in Japan where he met Itsu, Daken’s mother
Xavier has brought him into the psychic plane as well as Daken to explain to and show Daken that it was Romulus who orchestrated everything by having Winter Soldier gun her down thus robbing Wolverine and Daken from a life of peace and happiness
After Daken settles, he chooses to join his father in hunting Romulus down. Wolverine forgives Xavier for repressing his past life but forgives him because it gave him the chance to live as a hero
