Uncanny X-Men Masterworks Vol. 1
Begins with Giant Size X-men and introduces a new team- Wolverine, Storm, Nighcrawler, Colossus, Banshee, Thunderbird, and Sunfire
Vol 1 contains X-men issues 94-100 in addition to Giant Size X-Men preceding them
Xavier recruits the new members as the new X-men led by Cyclops to go save the original team from the island mutant Krakoa
They are successful in defeating Krakoa and take the original team home. There are now 13 X-men with the 7 new members in addition to Cyclops, Iceman, Havok, Polaris, Jean, and Angel
Sunfire quits and the original team leaves all except Cyclops who stays to lead
The X-men stop Count Nefaria from firing NORAD missiles all over the world and Thunderbird is KIA
The X-men defeat a monster named Kierrok from the Cairn
Xavier begins seeing a figure in his mind and the being involved in a great battle in space
Havok and Polaris inexplicably and mysteriously attack Prof X and the X-men at JFK airport
They are under the control of Erik the Red who’s assassination attempt on Xavier is thwarted and flees with Havok and Polaris
While the X-men and Jean are enjoying the winter holidays in NYC, they are attacked by Sentinels
Wolverine, Jean, Banshee, and Prof X are taken captive by Stephen Lang, director of the Sentinels after Bolivar Trask, and taken to his space station, Starcore 1
Peter Corbeau, an astronaut/scientist, takes Colossus, Nightcrawler, Cyclops, and Storm into space on a shuttle (Eagle-One) to retrieve the other members from Starcore 1
They make it onto the station and dispense with Lang’s Sentinels
Storm, Colossus, Wolverine, Banshee, and Nightcrawler find themselves facing off against Cyclops, Jean, Iceman, Angel, Havok, and Polaris who turn out to be automatons
With a hole in the shuttle and Eagle 1’s computer damaged, someone must take control of the ship manually and fly it past a solar flare back to Earth
The only one able to is Jean who uses her psychic abilities to protect herself while everyone else is in the radiation-proof life-cell
