Sinister Six
The first section of this graphic novel precedes every other Marvel story on this list so far. Peter is still in his highschool years and dating Betty Brant (Peter’s 1st girlfriend before Gwen Stacy), and Uncle Ben has only been dead for a few months
Doc Ock breaks out of jail and organizes and orchestrates a meeting of villains including himself and 5 others to battle Spiderman- Electro, Sandman, Kraven, Vulture, and Mysterio
Doc Ock proposes fighting him one at a time planning to weaken him with each fight
While Parker is at the Bugle, Vulture passes a message along to Jameson to tell Spiderman that two hostages have been taken who just happen to be Aunt May and Betty. Vulture tells him to do this through the paper and that the first location to go to is the Stark Power Plant
There, Electro awaits him and Spidey defeats him using his scientific knowledge
Next, Peter goes to Flushing Meadows where awaits Kraven. Two leopards and a Kraven are still not enough to take the spider down as Spidey eludes them and heads to the next location
Human Torch offers to help but Spidey refuses it
The next location has Spiderman fight robots of 3 of the original X-men which are being controlled by Mysterio from behind a metal wall which Spidey ousts and gains the next clue as Mysterio disappears
Spidey fights Sandman next in an airtight steel box which Sandman highly underestimated since he needs oxygen. He defeats himself as he gasps for air with Spidey lasting longer due to his enhanced biology
Spidey faces Vulture in the skyline of NYC and beats him
Spidey goes to a castle where Ock is holding Betty Brant and Aunt May. Doc Ock tries beating Spidey in an aquatic battle planning to drown him but Spidey tangles his tentacles with his webs and has him and all his associates arrested
An unspecified number of years pass when the Sinister Six forms again. (This is the current time now). There have been significant changes such as Peter and MJ getting married, Kraven is dead, the Hobgoblin will take his place, and Venom is already in Spiderman’s life by this point
The Six reform again- Doc Ock blackmails Sandman, (who is trying to reform) back into the group, and recruits Hobgoblin (Jason Macendale) who has Demogoblin inside him at this very moment
Once Doc Ock has all his cohorts gathered he informs them of his plan to modify a satellite launching from Long Island to spray a poison in the atmosphere if the people of the world do not agree to make the Six their rulers
Mysterio and Hobgoblin take an element called burundite using Mysterio’s hypnosis to get the scientist to give it to them. The element will make them immune to the poison
Vulture and Sandman obtain a submersible tank and Electro obtains a diagram for Cordco- the company that will launch the satellite
All this time, Peter is unaware of their conspiracy and attends the launch only to witness the SS attacking. He becomes Spiderman and the fight begins
Sandman betrays Doc Ock and helps Spiderman but is turned into glass by Doc Ock’s weapon
Doc Ock reveals his true plan- the satellite didn’t launch with a poison but instead with a formula that’ll make cocaine addicts convulse making them need burundite which will cure them
Spidey & Doc Ock face off after the SS disperse due to Ock’s deceit and manages to obtain the burundite. Doc Ock lets him go and tells him he looks forward to their next encounter
The burundite is launched in a 2nd satellite up into the atmosphere and cures those affected by Doc Ock’s formula
