Spiderman: Far From Home
The last one. The final piece of the puzzle to wrap up the Infinity Saga. Little did Tony know that when he chose Peter to help out for the airport battle in Germany that the two would form one of the strongest bonds in the MCU. That’s the biggest connection for Far From Home to the MCU. At the start of the film, we see Midtown High School commemorate the dead and praising their heroic sacrifices- we see Black Widow, Captain America, and Iron Man himself in a memorial video. Sadly, this indicates that Steve has passed away and is now resting in peace and truly does deserve so as he spent his entire life serving and putting others before him never thinking of just himself. He has left his legacy to his best friend Sam Wilson who has quite big shoes to fill now.
Far From Home deals with the aftermath of how people were affected by the First and Second Snap. Those that were snapped out and returned have been outgrown by their younger siblings and friends and we have seen that those who were revived were brought back to their original spots save for those that were in moving transportation vehicles or any other dangerous situation which we can assume Prof Hulk requested the stones to place them in a safe location such as the ground near where they died. Anybody that was snapped stayed the same age, thus Peter and all his classmates from the previous movie are all still together in the same school year. The villain of the film is Mysterio, another classic Spiderman foe, and not for one second were we going to believe that Mysterio was a good guy as shown in the trailer.
When Mysterio first meets Peter he claims to be from Earth-833. In the comics that is where Spider-Man UK hails from- an appropriate reference seeing how the plot of this film revolves around being in Europe. Mysterio uses holographic projection technology to be able to do what he does and cast illusions. In fact, it is the very same tech that is used in Civil War when Tony demonstrates B.A.R.F.(Binarily Augmented Retro-Framing)- it is actually Mysterio’s design. In the film, Quentin Beck (Mysterio’s alter ego) uses the technology to create creatures called Elementals. They are modelled after the Spider-Man comic book characters and villains Molten Man (Fire Elemental), Hydro Man (Water Elemental), Cyclone (Wind Elemental), and Sandman (Earth Elemental).
At the end of the film, after Quentin is thought dead, a news program broadcasted by J Jonah Jameson of the Daily Bugle uses footage recorded by Mysterio to fabricate the final battle that he and Spider-Man had to implicate Peter as his murderer and reveal his secret identity publicly. This, of course, will have great ramifications…...or would have if Sony and Disney could have swallowed their pride and come to an agreement on Spider-Man but unfortunately, after a deal that went downhill with neither party coming to terms, Spider-Man is as of right now and perhaps for the foreseeable future, no longer part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The most interesting thing about that scene was that the actor playing Jameson was none other than J.K Simmons of the Sam Raimi trilogy of Spider-Man films. This caused a lot of people to speculate that perhaps the Multiverse was intertwining and that Tom Holland would possibly have interactions with the Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire incarnations of the character. Alas, this is not going to happen and Sony will now make their own Spider-Man movies starring Tom Holland. Had Disney/Marvel kept Spider-Man there would have been the potential of seeing new villains on-screen that have not been seen before such as Kraven the Hunter or Scorpion or even the Sinister Six altogether. One can only dream now, however.
