The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a fictional grandiose and rich universe based on the comic lore of the comic books and comic book characters from which they derive. Like the comics, we have the pleasure of being able to view on-screen some of the most famous Marvel characters and core Avengers members such as Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, and Thor as well as great supporting characters such as James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes aka War Machine and Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier.

When this summary was first started, the MCU was just beginning Phase 3 and Civil War served as a perfect milestone between Phases 2 and 3, but it should be noted that this summary is updated periodically.

In the MCU we know exist the 6 Infinity Stones. They are the Space Stone, embedded inside the Tesseract introduced in Captain America: The First Avenger and used as a key plot device in The Avengers; the Reality Stone, inside the Aether which exists in a fluid-state introduced in Thor: The Dark World; the Power Stone, inside the Orb introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy; the Mind Stone, which was revealed to be inside Loki’s sceptre which Thanos had granted to him and possessed artificial intelligence and responsible for the birth of Ultron and Vision introduced in Age of Ultron; the Time Stone, embedded inside the Eye of Agamotto introduced in Dr.Strange, and the Soul Stone which was revealed can only be claimed by sacrificing a soul for a soul, (something that is truly cherished and loved in life), on the planet Vormir introduced in Infinity War.

It has all culminated to the much anticipated Infinity War of which we know Thanos is the ultimate villain. The story does not end there, however, as it was proclaimed by the Russo brothers that the sequel to Infinity War is the definitive conclusion to the story arc that started the MCU 11 years ago.
