While in SF, Wolverine is attacked by Deadpool in Chinatown 

After a long brutal battle in the streets, DP shoots Logan in the head who awakens tied up above a pool

Logan gets DP talking long enough for Daken to arrive, cut off DP’s hand, and pull the lever to drop Logan into the pool himself

Daken bests DP in combat and blows Logan out of the pool when he kicks grenades in that DP meant to use. Daken seriously injures DP who doesn’t get back up to fight (Daken slashed DP across the belly using claws just like his father)

Logan had planned all along for Bucky, disguised as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, to hire DP to kill Logan which would get Daken’s attention since he wants that honor for himself

Bucky, who was there the whole time, shoots Daken with one of the carbonadium bullets Logan gave him which slows down his healing factor which he also inherited from Wolverine. Logan did not use the Muramasa blade because it negates healing factors thus it would’ve killed Daken

Logan takes Daken and leaves DP on the floor in a pool of his own blood 

Wolverine places his unconscious son near Medicine Lake volcano in California where he tortured men in an experiment during WWII

Daken’s childhood is shown including how he was adopted and named Akihiro but the villagers called him Daken meaning ‘mongrel’. He has an ability to make others feel the same emotions he feels. His tragic history is shown with his former family all killed indirectly through his actions with Romulus finding him thereafter

Shows how Romulus manipulated Daken into believing Logan murdered his mother Itsu when it was actually Winter Soldier 

Daken wakes up with no memory of who he is
