X-men issues 101-110

Jean successfully manages to get Eagle One back to Earth where it crashes in Jamaica Bay

Jean emerges calling herself Phoenix

Jean recovers in hospital while Banshee takes the rest of the team, minus Cyclops, to see Cassidy Keep in Ireland

They are attacked by Black Tom Cassidy (Banshee’s cousin), and Juggernaut. He and Colossus battle for the first time establishing a rivalry 

Black Tom and Juggernaut are defeated. Revealed that they were following orders from Erik the Red who himself is following orders from someone. Erik then allies with Magneto

While going to check on Moira Mactaggert’s island, Muir Island, the X-men are attacked by Magneto on arrival

Moira and Cyclops arrive and are told by Multiple Man, who was keeping guard of Moira’s laboratory, that Erik the Red, Havok, and Polaris attacked him and liberated and returned Magneto to his proper age after being previously incarcerated and biologically regressed into a baby

Magneto agrees to work with Erik and battles the new X-men, learning who they were from Erik

Outmatched, the X-men are forced to retreat as Cyclops orders them to

Magneto leaves Moira’s lab not knowing he has awoken a being only known as Mutant X

Three different events occur simultaneously as a man named Christopher speaks about the ramifications of an emperor opening a dimensional gate; the being seen in Xavier’s dream heading towards Earth while being pursued by a larger spacecraft; and Erik the Red spying on Xavier and Jean in the Grey household with Havok and Polaris

Erik the Red tricks Firelord (Galactus’ third herald after Silver Surfer and Air-Walker) into thinking that the X-men are antagonists. He battles the X-men at the mansion and defeats them

The being from Xavier’s visions successfully manages to teleport to Earth before her ship is destroyed by her pursuers who retreat after learning the planet has repelled Galactus 4 times

Firelord arrives for Xavier at Jean’s house as does the being from space who happened to arrive just before, approaching Xavier for help. Her name is Lilandra

Jean transforms into Phoenix and battles Firelord while Erik the Red takes the opportunity to knock Lilandra and Xavier unconscious and takes Lilandra through a stargate

Using her powers, Phoenix opens the stargate and goes through with the X-men. Firelord comes looking for her 

A flashback reveals Prox X being unable to control his mind from the powerful visions and creating evil, psychic doppelgangers of the original X-men which the current team defeated in the Danger Room. This happened just after Thunderbird’s death

The X-men find themselves in space and battle a legion known as the Imperial Guard 

They save Lilandra from the Soul Drinker

She explains her story of how she opposed her Emperor brother D’Ken of obtaining a powerful cosmic force and was accused of treachery and forced into exile and found out about Xavier through her telepathic abilities

D’Ken sent Erik the Red to either stop her or kill Xavier to stop an alliance hence all Erik’s previous alliances

Lilandra explains that what D’Ken wants is the M’Kraan crystal which holds absolute power 

As Gladiator (leader of the Imperial Guard) is about to kill Lilandra, she is saved by a group called the Starjammers. They defeat the Imperial Guard

The leader’s name is Corsair

The M’Kraan crystal begins unleashing power as nine stars line up vertically above it

The crystal guardian Jahf confronts the X-men and Starjammers as does a 2nd guardian

The X-men and Corsair somehow end up inside the crystal

Jean realizes that the lattice of energy supporting the crystal is deteriorating and after transforming into Phoenix, stabilizes it with her immense power. The X-men find themselves at Jean’s home again

Firelord makes amends with the X-men telling them how Xavier explained he was deceived by Erik the Red 

Lilandra stays with Xavier on Earth as she is a traitor to her empire. D’Ken is catatonic after a Starjammer threw him into the M’Kraan’s energy

Corsair is Cyclops’ father

Wolverine is ambushed by a being known as Weapon Alpha who claims Wolverine (known as Weapon X to him) is Canadian property and attempts to force him to go back. He is foiled by the X-men and plans to bring a Canadian team known as Alpha Flight with him next time

The X-men deal with and beat a C-class villain known as Warhawk
