William Stryker, a priest, aims to eradicate all mutants

After meeting with Stryker for a debate on the nature of mutants, Charles Xavier is abducted by Stryker but manages to fake the deaths of Storm and Cyclops

Wolverine deduces they are still alive

Magneto teams up with the X-men

Illyana Rasputin (Colossus’s sister) is kidnapped by Stryker’s subordinates the Purifiers

Magneto coerces information out of some Purifiers who were present at the debate and finds out that Stryker intends to wipe out mutantkind by using Prof X’s abilities

Stryker confesses to Xavier he murdered his wife and mutant-born son

Kitty attempts to rescue Illyana but is discovered by the Purifiers. She makes a run for her life

Magneto and the X-men rescue Illyana, Cyclops, and Storm

Stryker gives a sermon in front of many important political figures to make his case against mutants

Magneto intrudes the sermon to confront Stryker. At the same time, Prof X’s forced amplified psionic attack against mutants through Cerebro begins

X-men struggle to fight as they are mentally attacked. Cyclops knocks Xavier out with an optic blast 

The X-men make a stand and Stryker prepares to shoot Kitty but is shot by a police officer

Magneto attempts to convince Xavier to fight for HIS cause but despite Xavier admitting Magneto is right, refuses to join him
